I live between two worlds and passions: I am a technologist and ‘futurist’ that spends a lot of time in technical innovation. But I also love all things analog: Film, traditional watch movements, vinyl records, cars and motorcycles that have manual gearboxes, physical books, notepads, pens — you get the point.
My book, Human Traits, explores both and in one sense tries to merge the two philosophies. That is a love of the physical world and an exploration of our digital divide.
I am seeing a clear trend of a return back to an analog world. The pendulum has swung so far across the digital frontier, that it’s only natural for us as humans to crave something more real, more physical. In-person events, travel experiences, well-made physical objects that last beyond a 12 month tech cycle. We talk about upgrading our tech: our phones, computers, but I believe 2026 will be a year we choose to upgrade our lives with a return to analog experiences and I am here for it.
My Passion projects:
This year, I launched a vinyl collection management system called ‘Needle & Groove’ over on the website: AReturnToAnalog.com
I am also exploring and learning about luxury watch trading. I love traditional analog watch designs and I want to further jump into this world. Stay tuned for me launching this endeavor. If you are interested in finding a specific watch, reach out and perhaps I can help.
I am working on my second book and hope to release/publish this work in the first half of 2026. More news on that coming soon as well.
I have taken a short hiatus from my newsletter on all things Flow State, but I am going to jump back in on the weekly cadence of publishing that newsletter. The Drop In
AI will persist in our daily lives and topic of conversation, but I strongly believe we as humans, crave something more, dare I say: real.
